The midlife years are between 40 and 55. Still, the many signs and symptoms of your changing hormones can begin in your 30’s, long before you might expect them. Like embarking on any journey, being prepared for perimenopause and menopause will assure you of a safe and far more enjoyable experience.
“The change” can span 5-15 years of your life. Are you prepared?
Over 6,000 women reach menopause every day in the US alone. You can just imagine how many women are currently experiencing perimenopause ~ the long and often challenging years that leads to actual menopause.
Although every woman will experience “the change” many approach this natural life transition with dread and fear. If unprepared for this long journey, women feel lost, confused, overwhelmed and sure that something is “wrong”. Choosing a natural approach, they want accurate and reliable information and safe, effective symptom relief.
It’s essential to be prepared with knowledge, skills, resources and support. But, where do you turn?
Unfortunately, many websites provide inaccurate, outdated information. Some recommendations are downright dangerous. A visit to your doctor will likely result in little more than a pat on the back during perimenopause. Despite missed periods and a long list of symptoms, tests often show your hormones “within the normal range”. To regulate your cycles, a prescription for “the pill” is the allopathic approach. But, synthetic estrogen is the last thing you need! Far too many doctors continue to recommend unnecessary hysterectomies and, despite the known risks, women in menopause and beyond are still urged to use HRT.
Menopause is a natural life transition however hormonal changes can lead to health conditions.
Since the entire endocrine system is impacted by hormonal changes, it’s common for midlife women to experience compromised thyroid and adrenal function. Blood sugar issues also often arise, cholesterol levels can increase, digestive changes occur, etc. Each of these have the potential to result in serious medical conditions. The key to midlife wellness is naturally balancing your hormones and addressing the cause (not symptoms) of potential problems quickly.
