Perimenopause

“How wonderful to have this knowledge to share with my daughter, and friends  -  most of whom still shudder at the word "Menopause". The negative tales that have been passed down from generation to generation have so many women blinded.”

Stacey, Oregon

“I would like to say "thank you" for all your help and wisdom offered during our "private consultation". You have helped me to feel better about myself and I have come away with a clearer understanding of the many things I can do to ease the symptoms of menopause to make this time of my life most enjoyable.”

Linda, Maine

“Michelle’s calm, patient manner was a great help to me when my frustration was at an all-time high. Her knowledge of women's needs is remarkable; her problem solving abilities are rare”.

Doreen, North Carolina

You’ve helped to relieve a lot of the symptoms of perimenopause that were torturous to me. I was trying to get through this on my own and not doing a very good job of it. Thank you so much!”

Lynda, New York

The signs and symptoms of your changing hormones

can begin in your 30’s, long before you might expect them.

Women have been conditioned to believe that menopause is something to be approached with dread and fear. Moreover, most women don’t understand perimenopause (the years leading to actual menopause) and are completely unprepared for it. It’s important to remember that menopause is not a disease,

but rather a natural life transition experienced by every woman in the world.

Perimenopause can begin in your 30’s and span 5 - 15 years. As the end of your child bearing years approach, progesterone levels begin to drop, disrupting the fine balance between this vital hormone and estrogen. The resulting excess of estrogen is often the cause of mood swings, heavy periods, tender breasts, fibroids, cysts and other symptoms of an excess of estrogen.

Estrogen Effects

· PMS type symptoms

· Prolonged periods with heavy bleeding

· Proliferative endometrium (endometriosis, infertility)

· Breast cell stimulation (fibrocystic breasts)

· Increased body fat and weight gain

· Salt and fluid retention

· Depression, anxiety, and headaches

· Cyclical migraines

· Poor sleep patterns

· Compromised thyroid function

· Impaired blood sugar control

· Increased risk of blood clots

· Little or no libido effect

· Loss of zinc and retention of copper

· Reduced oxygen levels in all cells

· Increased risk of breast cancer

· Restrains bone loss

· Reduces vascular tone (dilates blood vessels)

· Triggers autoimmune diseases

· Prevents vaginal dryness & mucosal atrophy

· Increases risk of gall bladder disease

Changing hormones impact your entire endocrine system,

affecting your adrenals glands, thyroid, pancreas and much more.

With the onset of symptoms in your 30’s and 40’s, women don’t associate them with “the change”. They think something is terribly wrong and turn to a medical professional for answers. Unfortunately, this often results in prescriptions for the pill, anti-depressants and hormone replacement therapy. Many women also endure unnecessary hysterectomies and other surgical procedures while the true cause of their symptoms are ignored and left untreated.

Empower yourself with the knowledge, skills, resources and support to embrace menopause with confidence, honor and ease.
